About Fishbowl

Fishbowl is inventory management software from a Utah company that has been selling to small and midsize product businesses for about 25 years. Its long-running pitch is filling the gaps in QuickBooks: stock counts, purchase orders and sales orders live in Fishbowl and post to QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop or Xero, so the accounting side stays in the tool the bookkeeper already knows. The lineup is split in two. Fishbowl Inventory is a cloud product with three published tiers for businesses that buy and resell finished goods, adding automated reordering, multichannel selling and lot traceability as you move up. Fishbowl Advanced covers multi-warehouse distribution, 3PL and EDI workflows, and a manufacturing edition with bills of materials, MRP, work orders and job costing. Mobile barcode scanning comes with every plan. Pricing is paid only, billed annually, with a set number of users per tier and an implementation package included in every purchase. It suits operations that have outgrown spreadsheets and want guided onboarding more than a quick self-serve setup.

Best for: QuickBooks-based manufacturers and distributors who need BOMs, MRP and barcode-driven stock control.
