About FreeOTP+

FreeOTP+ is a community fork of Red Hat's FreeOTP for Android that keeps the same standards-based core but adds what the original lacks. You can export and import your tokens to Google Drive or other document providers for backup, search your token list, sort tokens into categories, and require biometric or PIN authentication to open the app. The interface follows Material Design 3 with a dark theme, offline icons are suggested for over 250 websites, and the code has largely been rewritten in Kotlin with modern Android libraries. It is free, has no account or cloud service of its own, and is licensed under Apache 2.0, available through F-Droid and Google Play. It runs only on Android. Compared with Aegis it offers a simpler feature set and its backups are less integrated, but it is a straightforward upgrade for people who started on FreeOTP and want backups without changing approach.

Best for: Android users who like FreeOTP but want backups and better organisation.
