About Stratum
Stratum, previously called Authenticator Pro, is a community-run open-source two-factor app for Android. It supports TOTP, HOTP, mOTP, Steam and other code types, protects the database with a password and biometrics, and makes encrypted backups you can store wherever you like. It imports from many other authenticators and lets you export at any time, so nothing is locked in. Brand icons, categories, custom ordering, density settings and Material You theming help keep long lists manageable. A Wear OS companion shows codes on your watch, synced from the phone, which few authenticators offer. The app needs only a single permission and no internet access, and the project says it has no corporate ties. It is free, licensed under GPL-3.0, and distributed through Google Play, F-Droid and GitHub. It runs only on Android, so there is no iOS or desktop version, and like Aegis it relies on you to manage backups rather than syncing through a cloud.
Best for: Android users who want an offline, open-source authenticator with a smartwatch app.
