About GoAccess
GoAccess is a free, open-source log analyzer that reads web server access logs and turns them into real-time statistics, either in an interactive terminal dashboard or as a self-contained HTML report that updates live. Because it works from server logs, there is no tracking script, no cookies and nothing for ad blockers to block, and it counts every request, including bots. It understands nearly all common log formats, including Apache, Nginx, Caddy, Amazon S3, CloudFront and Elastic Load Balancing, and can export JSON and CSV. Written in C with only ncurses as a dependency, it is very fast and easy to run on any Unix-like server over SSH. System administrators also use it to spot suspicious traffic, scanners and brute-force attempts. The trade-offs are that it reports on requests rather than people, so it lacks marketing metrics like conversions or campaigns, and it needs access to your server logs. It is MIT-licensed and runs on Linux, macOS and other Unix-like systems.
Best for: Sysadmins and developers who want instant stats straight from server logs.
