About Umami

Umami is an open-source analytics platform that started as a simple, privacy-focused Google Analytics alternative and has grown to cover product analytics too. The dashboard shows pageviews, visitors, referrers, UTM campaigns, devices and locations, and newer reports add events, funnels, retention, user journeys, goals and attribution. It uses no cookies and collects no personal data by default. You can self-host it for free, typically with Docker and PostgreSQL, or use Umami Cloud, which has a free Hobby plan and usage-based paid plans with a free trial. It suits developers, indie makers and teams that want a clean, modern interface and full control over where their data lives. The trade-offs are that self-hosting means maintaining the server and database yourself, the free cloud plan covers only one website with limited retention, and advanced product analytics are less mature than dedicated tools. It is MIT-licensed and runs in the browser.

Best for: Developers and small teams wanting modern, self-hostable privacy analytics.
