About Google Cloud Run

Cloud Run runs any container, or source code it builds into a container, as a fully managed service on Google Cloud. Services get an HTTPS URL, scale automatically with traffic, including down to zero when idle, and are billed only for the CPU and memory used while handling requests, or by instance time if you choose. Jobs run containers to completion for batch work, and worker pools and GPU support cover background processing and AI inference. Because it accepts any language, framework or binary that listens on a port, it is a common step up from functions-as-a-service and a simpler alternative to managing Kubernetes. A monthly free tier covers small workloads, and pricing beyond that is pay-as-you-go. It sits inside Google Cloud, so networking, IAM, logging and databases such as Cloud SQL integrate tightly, but you also inherit Google Cloud's console, project setup and billing complexity. Cold starts can add latency when scaling from zero.

Best for: Teams on Google Cloud who want to run containers without managing servers or Kubernetes.
