About Healthchecks.io

Healthchecks.io watches scheduled tasks using a dead man's switch. Each cron job, backup script or background worker pings a unique URL when it runs; if a ping does not arrive within the expected schedule plus a grace period, Healthchecks sends an alert by email, Slack, Telegram, SMS, phone call, webhook or one of many other integrations. It understands cron expressions, can record start and finish times to measure duration, and keeps a log of recent pings with their output. It is deliberately narrow and simple, built and run by a very small team, and it is well liked for exactly that. The hosted service has a free hobbyist plan with twenty jobs and inexpensive paid plans with more jobs, SMS credits and team features. The code is open source under the BSD licence and can be self-hosted with Docker or as a Django app.

Best for: Anyone who needs to know when cron jobs, backups or workers silently stop running.
