About iManage
iManage is the document and email management system used by many large law firms, accounting firms and corporate legal departments. Its core product, iManage Work, files documents and emails into client and matter workspaces with version control, permissions and full-text search, and plugs into Microsoft Outlook, Word and the wider Microsoft 365 stack. Around it sit modules for security policy and ethical walls, threat detection, records retention and disposition, conflicts and intake, deal closing folders, task tracking and knowledge search. Recent releases add AI features: document classification and data extraction, a natural-language assistant, and a Model Context Protocol connector so outside AI tools can work with governed content. It is sold to organisations through quotes, usually with implementation partners, and runs as a cloud service with desktop and mobile access. It suits large and midsize firms that need strict governance over client files; small practices will find it heavy and costly.
Best for: Large and midsize law and accounting firms that need matter-centric files with strict governance.
