About JetBrains AI Assistant

JetBrains AI Assistant brings AI features into the company's own IDEs, including IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, GoLand, Rider and CLion. It offers a chat panel that knows about your project, inline completion and next-edit suggestions, explanations and refactoring help, and generated tests, docs and commit messages. It can also run coding agents, including JetBrains' own Junie and outside agents that speak the Agent Client Protocol. Access is metered in AI credits. There is a free tier with a small monthly allowance, paid tiers with more credits, and top-ups when you run out. You can also plug in your own API keys or local models instead of paying JetBrains. It suits developers who already live in JetBrains tools and want AI that uses the IDE's code understanding, rather than a separate editor. It doesn't work in VS Code or other editors, and the JetBrains AI service is limited to certain countries.

Best for: Developers already using IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm or other JetBrains IDEs who want AI built in.
