About Laravel Forge
Laravel Forge is a hosted control panel from the Laravel team that sets up and manages web servers for you. You either connect an account at a cloud provider such as DigitalOcean, AWS or Hetzner, or use Laravel VPS for a server provisioned straight from Forge. It installs Nginx, PHP, MySQL or Postgres and Redis, then handles sites, SSL, push-to-deploy from Git, zero-downtime deployments, queues, scheduled jobs, database backups and monitoring. Despite the name it also deploys plain PHP, WordPress, Statamic and Node.js apps such as Next.js and Nuxt. Pricing is a flat monthly subscription with no free plan, and you pay your cloud provider separately. Compared with a PaaS like Laravel Cloud or Heroku you keep root access and full control of the server, but you are also responsible for it. Ploi and ServerPilot offer similar models.
Best for: PHP and Laravel developers who want managed deploys on servers they own.
