About MacsyZones

MacsyZones brings the zone-based window snapping of Microsoft's FancyZones to the Mac. You draw your own layouts of zones, which may overlap, then hold a key (Shift by default) while dragging a window to drop it into a zone. There is also a keyboard-driven Quick Snapper, a shake-to-snap gesture for trackpad users, grid layouts where you draw the target area, and snap resizers that move the edges between neighbouring windows together. Layouts are remembered per screen and per macOS Space, so a laptop screen and an external monitor can each keep their own arrangement. It is a one-person open-source project released under the GPL. The app can be downloaded and used for free, or bought for a small one-off amount to support the developer, which only changes the name to MacsyZones Pro. It runs on macOS only and needs Accessibility permission, like most window managers.

Best for: Mac users who miss Windows FancyZones and want custom, multi-monitor snap layouts for free.
