About OpenCATS
OpenCATS is a free, community-maintained applicant tracking system and recruiting CRM descended from the older CATS project. It manages candidates, job orders, companies and contacts, submissions and pipelines, with resume parsing, a careers page, saved lists, email and reports, which suits small recruitment agencies and internal teams that want full control of candidate data without a subscription. You download and run it on your own server with a standard PHP and MySQL stack, and there is a public demo and documentation. It is maintained by volunteers, so releases are irregular, the interface looks dated, there is no official support or hosted version, and integrations with job boards and calendars are limited. For organisations with the skills to host it and modest needs, it is one of the few genuinely free options.
Best for: Small agencies and teams with technical skills that want a free, self-hosted ATS.
