About Orion

Orion is a browser made by Kagi, the paid search company. It is built on WebKit, the engine behind Safari, so it is light on memory and battery on Apple hardware, but unlike Safari it can install many Chrome and Firefox extensions, including on iPhone and iPad. It has zero telemetry, built-in ad and tracker blocking, vertical tabs, tab groups, profiles, a focus mode and a low-power mode. The company does not include AI features in the core browser. Kagi funds it through Kagi search subscriptions and an optional Orion+ membership that unlocks extra features and supports development; the browser itself is free. Extension support is broad but not complete, so some extensions misbehave. Orion runs on macOS, iOS and iPadOS, and Kagi says versions for Linux and Windows are in development, with no Android version planned. It suits Apple users who like Safari's efficiency but want extensions and more control.

Best for: Apple users who want Safari-like efficiency with Chrome and Firefox extensions.
