About PagerDuty
PagerDuty is the long-standing standard for getting the right person woken up when production breaks. Alerts from monitoring tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus or Sentry flow in, get de-duplicated and grouped, and are routed through on-call schedules and escalation policies to phone, SMS, push and chat. Around that core it offers incident workflows, status pages, post-incident reviews, AIOps noise reduction and runbook automation for larger customers. It integrates with hundreds of tools, which is a big reason companies stay. The trade-off is price and complexity: per-user plans add up, and many advanced features sit in higher tiers or add-ons. A free plan covers a small team with one schedule and limited notifications; paid plans are billed per user. It runs in the browser with well-regarded iOS and Android apps for responders.
Best for: Engineering organisations that need dependable on-call scheduling and escalation.
