About PropelAuth

PropelAuth is a hosted auth service designed specifically for B2B products, where users belong to companies. Organisations, invitations, roles and permissions are core features, and the hosted pages include account and organisation management so your customers can manage their own teams. Paid plans include unlimited SAML and enterprise SSO connections rather than charging for each one, along with user impersonation for support, API keys for machine access, a separate staging environment and SCIM. SDKs cover common JavaScript frameworks and Python, Go, Rust and other back ends. The free plan is generous for early products, and paid plans have a flat monthly price plus a small charge per extra user above the included amount. Early-stage companies can get the Growth plan free for six months or discounted for a year. PropelAuth is cloud only and less suited to consumer apps, but for B2B SaaS it avoids the per-connection costs common elsewhere.

Best for: Early-stage B2B SaaS teams that need organisations and SAML without per-connection fees.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Unlimited SAML connections on paid plans
  • Organisation management and impersonation built in
  • Startup program discounts the Growth plan

Why people leave

  • Cloud only
  • Focused on B2B; consumer features are thinner
  • Smaller company and community than the big providers
