About Pydio Cells

Pydio Cells is a self-hosted file sharing and collaboration server, the successor to the older PHP-based Pydio. Written in Go, it is designed to be deployed by IT teams on their own infrastructure, with a policy-based permission model, workspaces for teams, sharing links, a sync client and automated workflows through its Cells Flows engine. It can sit on top of existing storage, including S3-compatible object stores and local file systems. The Home edition is free for home use and evaluation, while paid Connect and Enterprise editions add compliance features, branding, office integration and support for organisations. It runs on Linux, Windows or macOS servers or in Docker, with a web interface, desktop sync client and mobile apps. Compared with Nextcloud it has fewer add-ons and a smaller community, but a tidier permission model for business deployments.

Best for: IT teams that want a business-grade self-hosted file sharing server.
