About Square Online
Square Online is the ecommerce site builder from Square, the payments and point-of-sale company. It is aimed at businesses that already sell in person: products, inventory, orders and customers sync with Square POS, and features like pickup, local delivery, QR code ordering and restaurant ordering are built in. The free plan lets you sell online on a Square subdomain, paying only card processing fees; paid plans add a custom domain, more design control, advanced item settings and lower online processing rates. Payments must go through Square, and design flexibility is modest compared with Shopify or Squarespace, so it suits practical stores more than design-led brands. It is built on technology from Weebly, which Square owns. It runs in the browser with Square's mobile apps for managing orders.
Best for: Shops and restaurants already using Square POS that want an online store.
