About SupaSidebar

SupaSidebar is a macOS utility that adds an Arc-style sidebar next to whatever browser you use, including Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Brave and many others. It is a standalone app rather than a browser extension. You organise saved links into folders and spaces, see open tabs from all your browsers stacked in one vertical list, and jump between them with a fuzzy-search command panel that also covers bookmarks and history. It can also pin Finder files and folders, and send the current page to a different browser. Former Arc users can import their spaces and folders, and bookmarks from other browsers, in one step. Data is stored locally and syncs between Macs through your own iCloud account. There is a free tier limited to three spaces, and one-time paid licences that unlock unlimited spaces and cover a set number of Macs with a period of updates. It requires a recent macOS version and is made by a single independent developer.

Best for: Mac users who juggle several browsers or left Arc and want its sidebar and spaces back.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Works across Safari, Chrome, Firefox and dozens of other browsers
  • One-time purchase rather than a subscription
  • Data stays on your Mac and syncs through your own iCloud
  • Imports Arc spaces and folders directly

Why people leave

  • Mac only, and requires macOS 14 or later
  • Free tier is capped at three spaces
  • Paid licences include a limited period of updates
  • Built by one developer, so support depends on a single person
