About AppSignal

AppSignal is an application monitoring service from a small Dutch company that bundles error tracking, performance monitoring, host metrics, logging, uptime checks, anomaly alerts and dashboards in one product. It started with Ruby and Elixir and is particularly well regarded in those communities, with Node.js, Python, Go, Java, PHP, Rust and front-end JavaScript now supported, and OpenTelemetry integration for others. The interface is clean and focused on what developers need to fix slow endpoints and errors, without the sprawl of enterprise APM suites. Pricing is unusually simple: plans are based on monthly request volume rather than hosts or users, so teams, apps and dashboards are unlimited, and overages do not trigger surprise bills. There is a small permanent free plan for hobby projects, a 30-day free trial of paid plans, and free extended limits for open-source and humanitarian projects. It is a hosted web service.

Best for: Small and mid-sized web app teams, especially Ruby and Elixir shops, wanting simple APM.
