About Scout Monitoring

Scout Monitoring, long known as Scout APM, is application performance monitoring built for developers of Rails, Django, FastAPI, Laravel, Phoenix and similar framework apps. It traces web requests and background jobs, highlights slow endpoints, detects N+1 database queries and memory bloat, and links slow code back to the line and commit responsible through GitHub integration. Error monitoring and log management are included in every plan, and an MCP server and CLI let AI coding tools pull performance data. It is more focused and easier to read than enterprise APM suites, but covers fewer languages and has little infrastructure monitoring. Pricing is by monthly transactions, with unlimited users and apps on every plan: a free tier covers small apps, and paid plans start at a modest monthly price, with an initial period of unlimited data so you can see what you need. No credit card is required to start. It is a hosted web service.

Best for: Developers of Rails, Django, Laravel or Phoenix apps who want focused performance insight.
