About Axiom

Axiom is a cloud data platform for logs, traces and other event data, designed around the idea that you should be able to keep everything rather than sample or drop data to control costs. Data is ingested over HTTP, OpenTelemetry or integrations with platforms like Vercel, Cloudflare and AWS, then stored in a compressed columnar format on object storage and queried with APL, a query language modelled on Kusto. Dashboards, monitors and alerts sit on top, and it is often used as a log backend for serverless and edge apps where traditional agents do not fit. It is less of a full APM product than Datadog or New Relic, and APL is another language to learn. Pricing separates data loading, query compute and storage: a permanent free personal plan covers small projects, and the team cloud plan adds a monthly platform fee plus usage. It is a hosted web service.

Best for: Developers running serverless or edge apps who want to keep all their logs at low cost.
