About Azure Static Web Apps

Azure Static Web Apps hosts static and single-page frontends, such as React, Vue, Angular, Svelte, Blazor and static site generators, and pairs them with serverless APIs backed by Azure Functions. When you create a site, Azure connects to a GitHub or Azure DevOps repository and sets up a workflow that builds and deploys on every push, with staging environments for pull requests. Built-in authentication with Microsoft Entra ID, GitHub and other providers, role-based route rules and custom domains with free certificates are included. There are two plans: Free, aimed at personal projects, and Standard, for production apps with higher limits, an SLA, private endpoints and the option to bring your own Functions app, priced per app each month. It is the obvious choice for teams already on Azure who want Netlify-style frontend hosting; outside that ecosystem, the configuration and portal feel heavier than dedicated frontend hosts.

Best for: Azure-based teams hosting SPAs and static sites with small serverless APIs.
