About Chatwoot
Chatwoot is an open-source customer support platform that is often described as a self-hostable alternative to Intercom or Zendesk. It provides a website live chat widget and a shared inbox that also connects email, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, SMS and other channels, with labels, canned responses, automation rules, a help centre and reports. An AI assistant can draft replies and answer from your docs. You can run it on your own server with Docker, Kubernetes or a Linux VM, which keeps customer data in your hands, or use the hosted cloud with a small free tier and per-agent paid plans. Self-hosting is free, with paid enterprise features available. Compared with commercial suites, its reporting and ecosystem are thinner and self-hosters handle their own upgrades. It runs in the browser with iOS and Android apps. It suits teams that want a modern support inbox and full control over their data.
Best for: Teams that want an Intercom-style inbox they can self-host and control.
