About Graylog
Graylog is a log management platform that started in 2009 as an open-source project and has grown into log management, SIEM and API security products. The server collects logs over syslog, GELF, Beats and other inputs, processes them with pipelines and extractors, stores them in OpenSearch, and offers search, dashboards, alerts and streams for routing messages. It is common in IT and security teams that need central logging on their own infrastructure, often as a simpler alternative to building an ELK stack. Graylog Open is free to self-manage and covers core log collection and search; Graylog Enterprise and Graylog Security add features like archiving, reporting, correlation, anomaly detection and SIEM content, and a cloud platform is available. Since version 4 the server code is released under the Server Side Public License rather than an OSI-approved licence. It runs on Linux, with Docker images and packages.
Best for: IT and security teams who want central log management on their own servers.
