About Sumo Logic
Sumo Logic is a cloud-native log analytics platform used by both DevOps and security teams. It ingests logs, metrics and traces from cloud services, Kubernetes and applications, and provides search, dashboards, anomaly detection and alerting on top, with an OpenTelemetry-based collector. A large part of its business is security: a cloud SIEM and security analytics run on the same data, so organisations can serve both teams from one platform. Recent pricing has shifted towards a flex model where ingest is not the main meter and users are unlimited, which suits teams that want to send everything and pay for analysis instead. Its query language is powerful but takes time to learn, and the product is aimed at mid-sized and large companies rather than individual developers. There is a free trial and self-serve credit purchases, with larger plans through sales. It is a hosted web service.
Best for: Organisations that want one hosted log platform for both operations and security.
