About Icedrive

Icedrive is a cloud storage service that leans on a clean interface and low prices. Its desktop app mounts storage as a virtual drive, so files stream on demand instead of filling the local disk, and it also offers folder sync. Encryption is client-side using the Twofish cipher with a zero-knowledge design, included on paid plans rather than sold as an add-on. File versioning keeps older copies for a set period. There is a free tier, monthly and annual plans, and lifetime plans paid once, with prices shown in US dollars. Apps run on Windows, macOS and Linux, plus iOS, Android and the web. The trade-offs are those of a younger, smaller provider: fewer collaboration features, basic sharing controls and no team admin tools to speak of. It suits individuals who want cheap, private storage with a virtual drive.

Best for: Individuals who want cheap encrypted storage mounted as a drive.
