About KMyMoney

KMyMoney is a desktop personal finance manager made by the KDE community. It tracks bank, credit card, loan, asset and investment accounts using double-entry bookkeeping, so balances stay consistent, while presenting a ledger-style interface aimed at people without accounting knowledge. You can set up budgets, schedule recurring bills, categorise spending with payees and tags, follow investments with price updates, and run reports and forecasts. Statements can be imported from QIF, OFX and CSV files, and online banking is available through plugins. All data stays in a local file on your computer; there is no cloud service or mobile app. KMyMoney is free and open source, packaged by most Linux distributions and on Flathub, with KDE-built installers for Windows and macOS. It is a good fit for Quicken refugees and GnuCash users who want something simpler, but bank sync is limited and depends on your region and bank.

Best for: People who want a free, private desktop money manager like Quicken without a subscription.
