About Mode

Mode is a hosted analytics platform aimed at data teams who work in code. Analysts write SQL in a browser editor, continue the analysis in built-in Python or R notebooks on the same results, and publish charts, reports and dashboards for the rest of the company. Business users get a visual explorer, reusable datasets and scheduled reports delivered by email or Slack, so they can answer simpler questions without writing queries. Mode connects to the common cloud warehouses and supports custom HTML in reports for bespoke layouts. Pricing starts with a free Studio plan for individual analysts with a small user limit, then sales-led Pro and Enterprise tiers that add scheduling, permissions, API access, SSO and larger data limits. Mode was acquired by ThoughtSpot and is still sold under its own name. It fits analytics teams that want ad hoc analysis and reporting in one place; teams wanting a governed semantic layer for non-technical users may prefer other tools.

Best for: Analysts who mix SQL, Python and R and need to publish results as shared reports.
