About Neocities

Neocities is a static web host that revives the idea of GeoCities-style personal websites. Anyone can sign up and get a free site with an in-browser HTML editor, file manager and a profile in a community where users follow and comment on each other's sites. It is popular with hobbyists, artists, students learning HTML and people building retro or indie personal pages, and it never shows ads. Developers can upload with a CLI, WebDAV or the API, so it also works with static site generators. The free plan includes storage and monthly bandwidth suitable for personal sites, while the Supporter plan, a small monthly payment, adds much more storage and bandwidth, custom domains and WebDAV access, and helps fund the service. Sites are static only, with no server-side code or databases, and some file types are restricted on free accounts. It is a community project more than a business tool.

Best for: Hobbyists and learners who want a free, ad-free personal website with a community.
