About Rula

Rula is a US mental health service that connects people with licensed therapists and psychiatric providers who are in-network with major insurance plans. You enter your insurance and preferences, get a list of available providers licensed in your state, and book a video session, often for the next day. Rula estimates your per-session cost with your insurer before the first appointment, and if the first provider is not a good fit it helps you switch. The network covers individual, couples and family therapy as well as medication management, and treats children from age five as well as teens and adults. It focuses on online sessions, with some in-person options, and works with employers and health plans as well as individual patients. Compared with subscription services like BetterHelp, it is built around insurance billing and a regular provider relationship rather than a weekly fee. It is only available in the United States.

Best for: Insured US patients, including families and children, who want quick online therapy or psychiatry.
