About TomTom GO Expert
TomTom GO Expert is TomTom's paid phone navigation app, and it is the continuation of the app formerly called TomTom GO Navigation. It downloads maps to the phone for offline turn-by-turn navigation, refreshes them weekly, and adds live traffic, lane-level guidance and speed camera alerts. Its current focus is professional drivers: you can save vehicle profiles with height, weight and cargo so routes avoid low bridges, restricted streets and emission zones, and it lists truck-friendly fuel stops and parking. It still works for ordinary car navigation. The app runs on Android and iPhone and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It's sold as a subscription after a trial. TomTom also offers a separate, free TomTom app for everyday car drivers, so people who only need basic car navigation may prefer that. GO Expert suits truck, van and RV drivers and anyone who wants TomTom's maps offline.
Best for: Truck, van and RV drivers who need vehicle-aware routing and offline maps.
