About ungoogled-chromium

ungoogled-chromium is a community project that takes Chromium and strips out everything that talks to Google by default: background requests, Google account sign-in, Safe Browsing lookups, crash reporting, field trials and hard-coded Google domains. It aims to stay as close to stock Chromium as possible otherwise, adding a few privacy and usability options through flags. The result is a Chromium browser that should not phone home, at the cost of convenience. There is no built-in sync, extensions from the Chrome Web Store need a workaround or a helper extension, and updates are usually not automatic, so you rely on your package manager or third-party builds published for each platform. Those builds come from community contributors rather than one official source. It is free and open source under the BSD licence, with builds for Windows, macOS and many Linux distributions. It suits technical users who want Chromium's engine without Google's services.

Best for: Technical users who want Chromium without any connection to Google.
