About BugSnag
BugSnag is an error monitoring service owned by SmartBear, especially popular with mobile teams. Its SDKs capture crashes and handled errors from iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter, Unity and web and backend platforms, and it calculates a stability score per release so teams can decide whether a version is healthy enough to roll out further or needs a fix first. Errors are prioritised by severity and impact, and integrations push them to Jira, Slack and other tools. It has expanded into performance monitoring and distributed tracing, and SmartBear rebranded it as Insight Hub in 2025, although the BugSnag name is still used on its site and SDKs. Compared with Sentry it is less of a developer playground and more focused on release health. A free plan covers solo users, paid plans are priced by monthly event volume, and there is a free trial. It is a hosted web service.
Best for: Mobile and game teams that judge release health by crash-free rates.
