About calimoto
calimoto is a German app built for motorcyclists. Instead of steering riders onto motorways, its routing algorithm looks for winding, scenic roads, with four profiles from fast to twisty and a score that shows how curvy a planned route will be. It can generate round trips from your doorstep in a chosen direction and distance, and riders can browse a large library of shared rides. Rides are planned in the iOS and Android apps or on the website, and imported or exported as GPX, KML or ITN files. The free Basic tier covers planning and imports; Premium, a yearly subscription with a 14-day trial, adds turn-by-turn voice navigation, offline maps, group rides with location sharing, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, speed camera alerts, ride recording and lean-angle statistics. Maps combine TomTom and OpenStreetMap data, including closed roads. It suits riders who want to enjoy the journey; for straightforward A-to-B commuting, a general sat-nav app is enough.
