About Cloudflare Pages

Cloudflare Pages hosts static sites and front-end apps on Cloudflare's global network. You connect a GitHub or GitLab repository, or upload files directly, and Pages builds the site on every push, gives each branch and pull request its own preview URL, and serves the result from Cloudflare's edge. Pages Functions add server-side code using the same runtime as Cloudflare Workers, and framework guides cover Astro, Next.js static exports, Hugo, SvelteKit and many others. The free plan is generous: bandwidth and requests are not metered, preview deployments are unlimited, and you get hundreds of builds a month, with paid Cloudflare plans raising build and file limits. Developers who already use Cloudflare for DNS find it especially easy to set up. Note that Cloudflare's own docs now suggest starting new projects on Workers, which supports most Pages use cases and has more features, so Pages is best seen as a mature option for existing and simple static sites.

Best for: Developers who want free, fast hosting for static and Jamstack sites, especially if already on Cloudflare.

Pros and cons

Why people leave

  • Cloudflare now recommends Workers for new projects
  • Free plan is limited to one build at a time and 500 builds a month
  • Server-side features are narrower than full Node.js hosts
