About Trimble CoPilot
CoPilot began as a consumer offline sat-nav app and is now Trimble's commercial navigation product for trucks. It plans truck-legal routes using Trimble's PC*Miler routing engine, avoiding low bridges, weight limits and restricted roads based on a vehicle profile, and keeps working offline with on-device maps. Drivers get spoken directions, warnings for sharp curves and rollover risk, truck entry points at commercial sites, traffic, weather alerts and parking predictions. Fleets manage licences and routing rules centrally, and it plugs into telematics and dispatch systems such as Samsara, Geotab and Platform Science, with Android Auto support. Independent drivers can instead download the self-serve CoPilot GPS app from the App Store or Google Play and subscribe in the app, with pricing that depends on the vehicle profile. It suits trucking companies and owner-operators in North America and Europe; car drivers looking for a general sat-nav will find consumer apps cheaper and simpler.
Best for: Truck drivers and fleets that need truck-legal routing that also works offline.
