About Fossify Calendar
Fossify Calendar is part of Fossify, a community project that continues the popular Simple Mobile Tools apps as open-source software after the originals were sold. It is a privacy-focused Android calendar with day, week, month, year and event-list views, recurring events, reminders, holidays, birthdays and anniversaries pulled from contacts, import and export of calendar files, and customisable home-screen widgets. The app does not request Android's internet permission, so it cannot send your data anywhere; if you want sync, it reads and writes calendars from accounts set up on the device, such as Google or a CalDAV provider through DAVx5, and Fossify itself runs no sync service. It is free and ad-free, with source code, licences and releases published openly, and it is available from the major Android app stores. It is Android-only and has no web or desktop version, and the interface favours function over polish, but it is one of the best options for people who want a trustworthy local calendar on their phone.
Best for: Android users who want an open-source, ad-free calendar that never touches the internet.
