About KOrganizer

KOrganizer is the calendar and scheduling component of KDE's Kontact suite, which also includes KMail and the KAddressBook contacts app. It manages events, to-dos and journal entries, with alarm notifications, multiple views, quick event and task entry, printing, and web export of calendars. Through KDE's Akonadi storage framework it can connect to local files, CalDAV and Google calendars, Exchange and groupware servers, and share data with the rest of Kontact. It is free software licensed under the GPL, developed by the KDE community, and comes with most KDE Plasma desktops on Linux. KOrganizer is highly configurable, which makes it powerful for people who want tasks and calendar in one desktop app, but the interface is dense and the Akonadi backend can be heavy and occasionally troublesome to configure. Outside a KDE desktop it brings in many dependencies, so GNOME users usually prefer GNOME Calendar.

Best for: KDE Plasma users who want a configurable desktop calendar with tasks and journals.
