About Google Calendar

Google Calendar is the calendar most people already have through a Google account. It runs on the web and on Android and iOS, syncs instantly across devices, and handles multiple calendars, colour coding, shared family or team calendars, invitations with Google Meet links, and events added automatically from Gmail. A personal Google account can create one appointment booking page, and paid Google Workspace or certain Google One plans unlock fuller appointment scheduling with multiple pages, payments and reminders. Workspace adds admin controls, room booking, working hours and out-of-office, and Gemini features for drafting and scheduling. The personal version is free; business use comes as part of a per-user Workspace subscription. There is no official desktop app for Windows or Mac, so people who want a native client often pair it with another app from this list. Its biggest limitation is privacy: events are stored without end-to-end encryption on Google's servers.

Best for: Anyone on Gmail or Google Workspace who wants a reliable free shared calendar.
