About GNOME Calendar
GNOME Calendar is the calendar app built for the GNOME desktop and preinstalled on many Linux distributions such as Fedora Workstation and Ubuntu. It offers an infinitely scrolling month view, a week timetable and an agenda list, with quick event creation and editing. Rather than running its own sync, it builds on the Evolution data server, so calendars added through GNOME Online Accounts, such as Google, Nextcloud or any CalDAV or WebDAV server, appear automatically and are shared with other desktop apps. It also supports local calendars that work offline. The app is free and open source, developed by GNOME contributors, and the latest version can be installed from Flathub on most distributions. It is intentionally simple: there are no task lists, scheduling links or advanced time-zone tools, and it is designed for Linux only. For a Linux user who wants a clean calendar that respects the desktop's design, it is usually the first thing to try.
Best for: Linux users on GNOME who want a clean calendar synced through online accounts.
