About Grasshopper

Grasshopper gives a small business a separate phone number, local, toll-free or vanity, that rings on the phones and computers people already own. Calls, texts and voicemails for each contact are kept in one thread inside its apps for iOS, Android and desktop, so owners can keep business and personal communication apart without buying desk phones. It covers the basics a sole trader or small team needs: call forwarding, greetings and simple routing, voicemail, shared numbers and business texting, and you can port an existing number in. Grasshopper is owned by GoTo and aimed squarely at entrepreneurs rather than call centres: there are no power dialers, deep CRM syncs or contact-centre analytics. Plans are monthly or annual subscriptions with a short free trial, and adding users does not raise the price. It is only sold in the United States and Canada.

Best for: Solo founders and small US or Canadian businesses that want a second number on their own phones.
