About Mapy.com

Mapy.com, formerly Mapy.cz, is the map service run by the Czech internet company Seznam. It started as a domestic map site and is now pitched to travellers across Europe and beyond. Its strength is the outdoors: tourist, winter and aerial map layers, marked hiking and cycling trails, and route planning for walking, biking, running and driving. The mobile app adds turn-by-turn navigation, an activity tracker, GPX import and offline maps. The free version covers everyday use and one downloaded country. An annual Premium subscription unlocks unlimited offline maps, smartwatch features on Apple Watch and Wear OS, custom travel speeds, drawing routes by hand and priority support. It runs in the browser and on iOS and Android, and works with Android Auto and CarPlay. Coverage of shops, reviews and local business data is strongest in Central Europe and thinner elsewhere, so many people pair it with a general map app.

Best for: Hikers, cyclists and travellers in Europe who want detailed trail maps and offline navigation.

What works

Detailed tourist and winter map layers with marked trails
Route planning for walking, cycling, running and driving
Offline maps and an activity tracker in the free app
Smartwatch support on Apple Watch and Wear OS

Why people leave

Free version allows offline maps for only one country
Watch features need a Premium subscription, and Garmin isn't supported
Place and business data are thinner outside Central Europe
