About Mindwtr

Mindwtr is a personal task manager built around the Getting Things Done method. You capture tasks into an inbox, process them into next actions, projects, waiting-for items or someday lists, and work through a guided weekly review. A focus view shows today's schedule alongside the actions you can take now, and recurring tasks and calendar integration cover routines and dated work. Data lives on your device by default; sync is optional and goes through a service you choose, such as iCloud, Dropbox, WebDAV or your own server. AI features are off unless you connect your own provider or a local model. It is entirely free and open source under the AGPL, with apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, and it can import from Todoist, TickTick and OmniFocus. It is meant for individuals; there are no shared workspaces or task assignment.

Best for: Individuals who follow GTD and want a free, local-first task manager on every platform.

  • Native apps on all five major platforms, including Linux

Why people leave

  • No team features such as shared projects or assigning tasks
  • Sync relies on you configuring a third-party service or your own server
  • iOS version is distributed through a TestFlight beta
