About Vikunja

Vikunja is an open-source task manager you can run on your own server or rent as a managed service. It starts as a personal to-do list with projects, labels, priorities, due dates, reminders and recurring tasks, and grows into light team use with shared projects, assignees and four views: list, Kanban, Gantt and table. Built-in importers bring over tasks from Todoist, Trello and Microsoft To Do, and CalDAV support lets other clients read your tasks. Self-hosting is free and installs with Docker or native binaries; Vikunja Cloud is a paid hosted option, made and hosted in the EU, with personal, family and organisation plans and a free trial. It is AGPLv3-licensed and maintained by a bootstrapped developer. Mostly used through the web interface, it lacks the polished native apps, natural-language entry and integrations of commercial apps, and you are responsible for updates and backups if you host it yourself.

Best for: Self-hosters who want to own their to-do data and share projects with family or a small team.
