About Microsoft To Do

Microsoft To Do is the successor to Wunderlist, which Microsoft bought and later shut down. It keeps things simple: lists, steps inside tasks, due dates, reminders, recurring tasks, notes and file attachments, plus a My Day view where you pick what to work on today from suggestions. Lists can be shared with other people, and tasks flagged in Outlook email show up automatically. Because everything is stored in Exchange Online, To Do and Outlook tasks are the same data, which makes it the natural choice for people already using Microsoft 365 at work or a personal Outlook.com account. The trade-off is depth: tags are limited to simple hashtags, no natural-language scheduling as capable as Todoist's, and limited views. It costs nothing for personal Microsoft accounts and is included with Microsoft 365 work accounts. Apps run on Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and the web.

Best for: Outlook and Microsoft 365 users who want a free, no-fuss to-do list.
