About Rise
Rise (styled RISE, by Rise Science) is a sleep and energy app built around two ideas from sleep research: sleep debt and circadian rhythm. Using phone usage data, Apple Health and optional wearables such as Apple Watch, Oura, Fitbit or Garmin, it estimates how much sleep you personally need, how much you owe, and when your body naturally wants to sleep. Each day it shows an energy schedule with predicted grogginess, peak focus windows and an afternoon dip, and suggests the best time to wind down. Sixteen habit nudges cover things like caffeine cut-off, light exposure and evening routines. Unlike most sleep trackers it deliberately doesn't show light, deep and REM stages, arguing they aren't useful to optimise. Rise is a paid subscription after a free trial and runs on iPhone and Android. It suits people who care more about feeling and performing better during the day than about detailed overnight graphs.
Best for: People who want to manage sleep debt and plan their day around energy levels.
