About Sleep Cycle
Sleep Cycle is one of the longest-running sleep tracking apps. You leave your phone by the bed and it listens to your breathing and movement through the microphone, so no watch or ring is needed. Each morning it shows how long and how well you slept, broken into light, deep and REM phases, and rolls these into a sleep score. Its best-known feature is the smart alarm, which picks a moment inside a window before your set time when you're sleeping lightly. It also records snoring and sleep talking so you can see how often it happens, and offers sleep sounds and stories to help you drift off. The company behind it, Sleep Cycle AB, is based in Sweden. The app runs on iPhone and Android. Basic tracking and the alarm are free, while detailed history, trends, snore analysis and the audio library sit behind a Premium subscription with a free trial.
