About Google Tasks

Google Tasks is a lightweight to-do list that lives inside Google's products. You can add tasks from the side panel in Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Drive and Docs, turn an email into a task, and see dated tasks on your Google Calendar. Tasks support details, due dates, notifications and sub-tasks, and lists can be reordered by hand or by date. In Google Chat spaces and eligible Workspace Docs you can assign tasks to other people. There is a standalone mobile app for Android and iOS; on a computer, Tasks opens inside Google Calendar or the side panel rather than as its own site. It is free with any Google account and included with Workspace, where admins control access. The limits are clear: no tags, priorities, filters or project hierarchy beyond lists and sub-tasks, so people with more involved systems tend to outgrow it. It fits best as a simple list for people who already work in Gmail and Calendar all day.

Best for: Gmail and Google Calendar users who need a simple, free task list.
