About Plivo

Plivo is a cloud communications platform that offers programmable SMS, voice calling, SIP trunking, WhatsApp and phone verification APIs, and more recently a builder for voice AI agents. It is often picked as a Twilio alternative by teams who want a narrower, cheaper product: the pay-as-you-go plan has no lock-in, starts with free credit and no credit card, and covers the United States and India, while an enterprise plan opens 190+ countries, short codes, custom sender IDs, volume pricing and compliance features such as HIPAA and SSO.
