About Timing

Timing runs on your Mac and records which apps, documents and websites you spend time on, without timers. You then assign that activity to projects by dragging blocks or setting rules, so recurring work sorts itself, and you can add manual entries and timers when needed. Reports show billable and non-billable time by project, with customisable layouts and rounding on higher plans. Tracked data stays private, and imports from iPhone Screen Time, calendar and reminders, meeting detection, a web app, scripting, a web API and Zapier integration extend it. Higher tiers add team features such as shared projects and viewing team times, plus two-way sync with tools like ClickUp and Linear. It is sold as monthly or annual subscriptions in several tiers, licensed per number of Macs. It is only for macOS, so Windows users and mixed teams need something else, and the depth takes some setup to get right.

Best for: Mac-based freelancers and consultants who want detailed, automatic time records.
